Founded in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 1996 by brothers John and Chris Trogner, Tröegs Brewing Company is driven by a sense of adventure and curiosity. Since the beginning, Tröegs has been built by family, friends and kindred spirits who share a love of great beer. Now based in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Tröegs is widely known for award-winning beers like Perpetual IPA, Troegenator, Nugget Nectar and Mad Elf, as well as it experimental Scratch Series, wood-aged Splinter Series and Hop Cycle Seasonals.
Tröegs was our first client and started the ball rolling for BrauKon. In 2004, the Troegner brothers placed their first order and not long afterwards, they placed a second one, as they were pretty happy with their new German brewing equipment. From the very beginning, Tröegs and BrauKon established a friendly cooperation and partnership. Due to an increased demand for Tröegs beer, John and Chris decided to extend their brew house in 2011. Tröegs was one of the first breweries to place their brew house right in the middle of the taproom and a pioneer of that particular brew house architecture.
In 2004, BrauKon delivered a 30hl brew house to Harrisburg. In 2011, Tröegs ordered a turnkey brewery equipped with all technical and technological BrauKon highlights. The new, fully automated 4-vessel 120hl brew house was built to produce ten brews per day. For the first time, BrauKon also installed its HopBackPro in order to make it possible for the client to process big amounts of fresh hops right after the whirlpool. All breweries are similarly equipped to allow repeatability and scalability of recipes.
